September 2022: Sowelu's Birthday, Austin's tree and soil improvement.

Another busy month. We had 10 tons of compost delivered most of which was used to improve the soil on the mandala with the help of our amazing wwoofers. This was then covered with cardboard and covered with straw and will be left over the Winter. Sowelu celebrated her eighth birthday with the family and later in the month went to Oaklands Park for the day. We planted a walnut tree for Austin in the family field which had nice contrasting leaves with the others.

New compost bins were made behind the polytunnel and basil leaves were harvested and left to dry out in the kitchen ready to be saved as herbs.
