August 2022: Heatwave, Wwoofers and Visitors

Prolonged heatwave this month so water preservation in full force. We had some lovely wwoofers from England, Spain, and Germany to help us catch up on various jobs that needed doing like weeding, maintaining the tracks, seed planting, polytunnel maintenance, harvesting, mulching trees and preparing the mandala and vegetable patch for next year. The lodge was enjoyed by many visitors who appreciated the peace and quiet. Stuart had a stall at the Llandeilo Craft Fair and sold some items of woodwork as well as getting many enquiries about his signs.

We joined a Charity Group called Cegin Hedyn CIC who are opening up a community kitchen in Carmarthen providing meals for donation only. They had a lot of our excess fruit (20kg) and veg and donated some trees for their area. First attempt at growing cantaloupe melons seem to be successful.
