April 2020: Lockdown continues

April was a lovely warm, sunny month so a start was made on planting outside in the mandala and making a new vegetable patch. 56 asparagus plants were planted which were 2 years old grown from seed. A garlic bed, potatoes, broad beans, courgettes, sweetcorn and runner beans were also planted. The drainage pipe filter in the reservoir had to be cleaned which entailed Stuart donning a wetsuit to brave the freezing water! A portable pea frame was made for inside the polytunnel and outside and potting up seedlings continues. The barn was cleaned and tidied with a new tool rack made for storing tools. We have white bluebells in many places now.
